The CPU is the most important component of a computer or laptop and it's important to monitor it from time to time, so that you can know whether it needs to be upgraded or it can still be used with current applications. The problem is that Task Manager, the Windows default tool for monitoring the CPU and memory usage, doesn't display too much information about the CPU and it doesn't show the load in real time.

In this case, you could use PerfMonitor, a specialized Windows application which allows you to fully monitor up to 4 CPUs at the same time and view detailed information about each of them. The program does not need to be installed and it's enough to run the EXE file located in the program's archive. When launching the software, you will be able to view the CPU usage in real time, as an animated graph and also as a numerical value. PerfMonitor supports up to 4 CPUs and it's compatible with the newest dual-core processors.

Besides displaying the current CPU load, PerfMonitor can also display some detailed information about your computer's processor, like the amount of cache memory, CPU frequency and so on. At any moment, you can save the information displayed in the program's interface as a report file, which can be used later on.
